Smiles and butterflies arise
Within that sparkle in your eyes
As you sat and joyfully declared
How photography is dead
Captured all between the lines
Underneath each color droplet
Painted over by our mind
Yet
It remains so clear and stagnant
Time might win the war at last
But each memory will last
Every heart beet was recorded
Every moment, felt so raw
Every brush stroke brought to life
Things we wanted from afar
It was you who captured people
In the essence on your page
Won their hearts with but a sketchbook
"Please return another day"
They say,
Will you?
Who's to say.
But your thoughts will travel daily
There and back 5 times a day
Digging up the feelings buried
By the artist on the page
Life would seem to go forever
Limitations out of sight
Sitting down and paint the picture
Of the light
Bouncing off the things we like
And perhaps one day you'll find me
Dancing up among the stars
Nestled gently with Orion,
Jupiter won't seem so far
Twirling round the Northern Star
and by then all of my songs have faded and my paintings turned to dust
You'll still hear the echoes ringing
Echoes
of the future's past
