This collection of poems is put together to highlight the mind state and growth that Andrey Psychè has and continues to experience. Poems that track back to the beginning of his transformation of becoming an artist, and range all the way up to the present moment. Inside you will find words of love that evoke mental pictures of natural wonders, struggles with the reality of our current paradigms, explorations of the depths of the heart; lined with the longing for a lover that can only be heard in the whispers of the winds, felt in the moments where thoughts get too lost to hear themselves, and seen only there where logic and reason are constantly misplaced. Each poem begins its life visually through photography, painting, or drawing. This is then translated by holding the visual image in the heart, allowing the abstract notions and hidden details from the subconscious mind to percolate through into the realm of words, uncovering deep seeded truths that can be shared easier between minds. Take a deep breath and dive into the abstract waters of the Almighty Psyche!

WHY is the book needed?

First off, the process and content of the poems are valuable to any reader that desires to look within. More literally, I am also a substitute teacher in king county and students from middle schools and high schools would jump at the chance to check it out, especially if they don’t have the ability purchase it on their own. The more kids we can get into the doors of a library, the richer our society will become!

WHO is the intended audience?

Adults and young adults, lovers of poetry, artists, psychoanalysts, psychologists, lovers, hippies, musicians…

WHO is the author?

Andrey Psychè, (Andrey Pavlenko) local author, musician, artists, educator, and community participant.

Psychè studied biology at UW where he received a Bachelors of Science and got his first taste of writing. He later experienced the freedom that art embodies within itself, and began writing articles, short stories, poetry, and music, which all stand firmly rooted from fundamental principles of life he learned as a biology student.

Lately, Psychè has been contributing to the music community by contributing his skills to a local music journal, Dan’s Tunes Seattle, by writing reviews of music performances and new music releases.
